The setup#
I cooked a three-portion chicken and rice recipe from ChatGPT, then used the same conversation to plan the food in BurnWeek. Changing the portion worked first time. Carrying the leftover to Saturday still took a second request: the first answer was a fresh estimate about 80 kcal higher than Thursday's identical half, and asking for a copy made the two match exactly. The captures below are the requests that worked; the first Saturday attempt is described in step 4.
1. The recipe#

I asked for dry rice so there was no doubt whether the rice amount meant dry or cooked.
2. A third of the pot for Thursday's dinner#

Thursday had nothing planned yet, so the portion went in as a planned meal: 430 g, about 656 kcal. The banner says what that means: it counts toward Thursday's total now, and if it is still on the plan when the day ends, it is logged as eaten.
3. Correcting the size#

I expected to be hungrier, so I asked for half the pot instead of a third. The existing entry was resized from 430 g to 645 g, and the calories and macros went up by half with it: still one meal on the day, and no second copy to delete. The entry kept its old name, "One third of a one-pot chicken and rice", so the name no longer matches the portion. The weight and calories are the ones to read.
4. The other half on Saturday#

My first request, "the other half of the pot is my lunch on Saturday", went in as one entry, but as a fresh estimate: 655 g and about 1,064 kcal, against 645 g and 984 kcal for Thursday's identical half. The same pot should give the same numbers. I pointed out the difference and asked for an exact copy of Thursday's dinner. That replaced the entry, and Saturday now matches Thursday exactly, weight included. If you carry a meal to another day, compare it with the original before you trust it.
Aside: what's left on Thursday#

One last question: with that dinner planned, how much room is left on Thursday, and what is one breakfast that fits? The answer read the remaining allowance from the plan, about 1,016 kcal, and the suggestion, roughly 450 kcal, fits inside it.
What this needs#
You need the BurnWeek app connected in ChatGPT. The ChatGPT app launch post covers the setup and logging a meal you have already eaten. For portions that are not even fractions of the pot, see how to log leftovers.
FAQ#
What if I don't eat the planned dinner?#
Delete it or change it before the day ends, in the chat or in the app. Only what is still on the plan at the end of the day is logged as eaten.
Can I log a portion I have already eaten, rather than plan one?#
Yes. Say which day and how much, for example "I had one of the three portions for lunch today", and it goes on that day's log instead of the plan.
Why does each card show a range next to the total?#
A home-cooked portion is an estimate: the pot is never split perfectly evenly, and nobody weighed the cooked pot. The range shows how far off the total could reasonably be. Why calorie counts are ranges explains where that spread comes from.
